Tennessee State Wildflower metal print by Laura Vilandre. Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Artist's Description
Tennesee Purple Coneflower (Echinacea tennesseensis) is a rare form of echinacea endemic to the cedar glades of Middle Tennessee. It was thought to be extinct until 1968 when it was rediscovered in Lavergne, Tennessee.
The flower was put on the endangered species list in 1979 and had recovered sufficiently enough to be taken off of the list in 2011.
It became the second official state wildflower of Tennessee in 2012.
