Description
This photograph is a close-up of a purple iris with two out-of-focus irises in the background.
I'm not sure of the genus of this iris. They might have been cultivated years ago, but they now just grow wild in fields and forests around me.
The iris is the state flower of Tennessee. The name iris comes from the Greek word for rainbow.
